Methodist Family Services of Philadelphia (MFSP) works in the community providing social services and intensive family support through the Services to Children in their Own Homes (SCOH) program.  The social work staff serves as liaisons for the family with the Department of Human Services as well as the Judicial System.


Trained professionals deliver case management services, developmental assessments of the children, counseling and therapeutic treatment for the children and other referred family members.
 
Strategies employed by MFSP staff to support families include:
Life-skills training designed to help families become more self-sufficient
Behavior modification
Effective communication skills
Budgeting to more effectively utilize scarce family finances
Parenting skills education
Adoption Services, etc.
