“We’ve come to learn it’s not enough to create an institution, we’re becoming a real cofmmunity” stated Dr. Angele Parker, President and CEO of Methodist Family Services of Philadelphia. Monument Village will enable residents to break the cycle of homelessness and hopelessness by providing a complete range of social services designed to help the mothers break past patterns that lead to addictions and abuse, teach them how to communicate better with their family members and support them to achieve their educational and professional goals. Monument Village is a positive step to independence and self sufficiency.
Monument Village is the result of collaboration among a number of Philadelphia-based entities, including Methodist Family Services of Philadelphia (MFSP), 1260 Housing Development Corporation, The City of Philadelphia, Office of Emergency Shelter Services and Episcopal Community Services.
Monument Village is a 60-unit town home development near Fairmount Park in Philadelphia designed to provide permanent housing for individuals and families in one, two, three and four bedroom units.
