Before School Care Oftentimes a parent is required to be at work before their child gets on the bus to go to school.  The Before School Care Program offered by Methodist Services for Children and Families provides parents with a safe and secure, educationally-based program where their child can spend the before school hours.   The program ensures that children are well cared for until they arrive safely at school.  In the Before School Care Program children receive a light breakfast, wake-up activities and a van ride to school.   After School Care The After School Care Programs offered by Methodist Services for Children and Families provides a structured program for children ages 6 - 12 at various locations throughout Philadelphia.  Offering low student to teacher ratios the program provides structured homework and study time with tutoring and guidance as well as special programs including artistic and athletic activities.     Great Facilities At our Main Campus, Methodist Services beautiful twenty-one acre campus makes a variety of indoor and outdoor activities available to your child. Our campus consists of several playgrounds, athletic fields, volleyball and basketball courts, and shady, comfortable places to play. The campus' Main Building is the focal point of the After School Care Program. It houses the library, computer lab, gymnasium, recreation rooms, and arts and crafts center. When the weather becomes too cold to be outdoors, your child will have plenty of indoor activities available.  After School programs are also available at elementary schools in West Philadelphia and Kensington.     Afternoon Snack A nutritious snack is provided shortly after your child's arrival. Your child will often participate in preparing and serving the snack.     Homework Help Preparing children for the next day of school is an important part of our program.  Conducted by trained teachers, our Homework Help component provides a daily time for your child to do his or her school assignments.  Homework Help is provided to groups of children at similar learning levels.     Educational Extras To further enhance learning, our staff encourages your child to participate in fun, educational activities using computers and our library, and by participating in special projects.     Location Our Main Campus is conveniently located on Monument Road, just off Belmont Avenue and directly across from the old site of the Pennsylvania State Police Driver's Examination Course.       Licenses Methodist Services After School Care Program is licensed by the Department of Public Welfare as a school-age child care program and as a private, academic elementary school for tutoring purposes.   Get to Know Us For more information on the Before or After School Programs, please contact Heather Zador-Stutz, Director of Education at 215-877-1925 x 309 or hstutz@methodistservices.org.
