Community Counseling Services

Our caring and licensed therapists provide out-patient counseling services to children, youth and families in the Bangor and Easton communities of northeastern Pennsylvania. Psychiatric medication management is also available. Community Counseling Services staff strive to help clients identify the factors contributing to their problems and to develop a plan for managing them in a healthy manner that is strength-based. In doing so, clients can improve day-to-day functioning and enjoy a reduction in symptoms such as anxiety, sadness and hopelessness. Parenting and Social Skills groups are also offered. Most insurance is accepted for payment and a sliding fee scale is available to those who qualify. All therapists hold advanced degrees in psychology, social work or pastoral counseling.

Family Group Decision Making

Through the Bangor office of Community Counseling Services, we offer Family Group Decision Making, a practice that aims to develop a plan for ensuring the safety and well-being of the children living in a family as well as the overall needs of the family as a whole. Through its emphasis on the family’s strengths, problems are addressed in a way that minimizes intense conflict. The family unit is the primary decision-maker, holds all the power, and is responsible for implementing the plan developed in collaboration with identified supports.
